Sandy Salle, Hills of Africa Travel

Sandy Salle is CEO and co-owner of Hills of Africa Travel; A native of Zimbabwe, Sandy was born and raised in one of the most beautiful places on earth, Zimbabwe.  Zimbabwe is a small land-locked country located in southern Africa, next door to South Africa.

As a young child, she was fortunate to travel to many places in the southern part of the continent.  Now happily an American citizen, she does miss Africa:  the smell of the first rains, the beautiful sunsets, its’ magic, its’ people.  She believes that the next best thing to living in Africa is sharing it with others, so in 2002 she joined her sister-in-law and friend, Meredith Hill at Hills of Africa Travel.  She loves working with clients on their itineraries and showing them how to have the most amazing and transformational journey of their lives.  Connect with Sandy on Twitter @hillsofafrica or Facebook.

Mark Homann, Hills of Africa Travel

Mark Homann is the newest addition to the Hills of Africa team. Raised in Zimbabwe’s farming community, Mark earned his Professional Guides license at the young age of twenty-two. His formative years as a safari guide were spent managing camps and leading specialized safaris for companies with a heavy focus toward sustainable, community-based natural resource management.

Following his passion for conserving Africa’s wilderness and natural history, Mark joined The Malilangwe Trust in 2001 as their Chief Guide, overseeing their safari related activities. In 2004, he moved to the U.S. to work with The Malilangwe Trust in Zimbabwe and the Grumeti Reserves in Tanzania’s Serengeti, both nonprofits helping to shape conservation efforts through tourism.

Mark and his family now live outside of Hilton Head, South Carolina, where he works as a safari consultant to safari organize in Eastern and Southern Africa.

We are delighted that Mark has decided to join the Hills of Africa as one of our Africa travel specialists and he looks forward to helping you prepare for your Africa trip of a lifetime.
