The key to a great gift is the thought that goes into it. Although a nice sweater, watch, kitchen appliance, tie, or scarf makes for a fine gift, the gifts that really touch the receiver are the gifts from the heart. Just think of all the past gifts you’ve ever received. Which are the ones that you remember the most? Probably the ones that you feel a personal connection to.

So, if you’re tired of racking your brain for amazing, thoughtful gift ideas, look no further than our safari-inspired holiday gift guide:

Image to the left taken from www.grape.co.za.

South Africa Wine & Wine Accessories: South African wine can range anywhere from inexpensive to pricey, so staying within your budget with a South African wine gift shouldn’t be a problem. Whether the recipient loves bold reds or refreshing whites, most grocery stores and wine stores carry a variety of South Africa wines. At Hills of Africa, we often use World Premier Wines to ship our wine gifts, as they feature a great variety of South African wines, including Cederberg’s Bukettraube, Paul Cluver’s Seven Flags Pinot Noir, Jardin’s Nine Yards Chardonnay, The Winery of Good Hope’s Radford Dale Gravity, and more.

If you’re looking to send an accessory with your gift, be sure to include a copy of Platter’s South African Wine Guide 2012.

African Artwork: One of my favorite stores in all of Africa is Tribal Textiles, which is located in the rural village of Malimba in eastern Zambia. I have purchased numerous gifts for family and friends while visiting and have had the sheer pleasure of witnessing the surprise and love that each of my gift recipients experienced when opening these gifts. Specifically, Tribal Textiles produces hand-painted fabrics with traditional techniques, including bed linens, table clothes, wall hangings, bags, aprons, home accessories, and children’s room décor. Some of the popular prints include floral, animal print, tribal patterns, and even Christmas colors and designs. These gifts are great for all ages and can be purchased from anywhere in the world. Visit their website at http://www.tribaltextiles.co.zm/.

Image above of Tribal Textiles’ kids bedding taken from the Tribal Textiles website.

The Gift of Travel: The gift of travel is the ultimate way to touch your loved ones’ hearts. To me, experiences, memories, and joyful moments make our lives rich and fulfilled. No material gift can compete. So whether you’re looking for an unforgettable gift to give to your family or to your significant other, a trip to Africa will undoubtedly change your lives forever.

Make a Donation: For individuals who are interested in giving the gift of education, medical support, or community upliftment to those in need, making a financial contribution to a trusted African organization can change someone’s life this holiday season.

Below are some of our suggestions on the best foundations and organizations to donate to in Africa:

Camfed: Give the gift of education this holiday season by donating to Camfed (short for “Campaign for Female Education”), an organization that provides financial and educational support to women and girls in rural parts of Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Malawi, and Tanzania. Camfed’s stated mission is to fight both poverty and HIV / AIDS through education and other support structures (including microloans, scholarships, and leadership networks).

Abalimi Bezekhaya: Abalimi Bezekhaya means “the planters of the home,” and its mission is to teach communities the principles and practice of organic microfarming and gardening to become self-sustaining.

Abalimi aids families and community groups in planting their own vegetable gardens and creates jobs and commerce through its garden centers, which provide free advice, gardening tools, fertilizer, and seeds. Abalimi also trains 1,000 people each year through a basic organic vegetable-growing course.

Ol Malo Trust: The goal of the Ol Malo Trust is to allow the Samburu people to use current technology and methods to develop a high quality of life while empowering them to practice ancient traditions. This preservation includes helping the Samburu continue their time-honored values of respect, hospitality, compassion, and honesty—and to continue their nomadic lifestyle. The Trust supports educational and health issues in a way that honors the Samburu and avoids fostering dependency.

What will you be giving your loved ones this holiday season? We’d love to hear in our comments section.

See below for Part VII of this series, which focuses on a portion of the Botterlary Ward:

Beyerskloof: Anyone interested in getting to know more about the uniquely South African varietal pinotage needs to ensure that they include a visit to Beyerskloof on their itinerary. This estate has done a gorgeous makeover of their cellar and tasting area and has included a wonderful new restaurant called RED LEAF, named after the red leaf oak logo of the farm. I have personally tried this restaurant and think it is absolutely wonderful. It is a definite recommendation for a long boozy lunch! The food is very well priced and the wine is reasonably priced. I had one of the best steaks that I have had in a long time and my friend had the pinotage burger, which looked amazing!Note this is a casual relaxed restaurant—not fine dining, and has been discovered by the students who arrive there in mass over weekends. So, if you are after a quiet lunch, this is not it. If you want a bit of vibe, this one is fun! www.beyerskloof.co.za

Bellevue: Head here to continue your pinotage journey. The winemaker here is crazy about pinotage (the uniquely South African wine varietal). Their pinotage wins numerous wine awards every year. www.bellevue.co.za

Image above taken from the Bellevue website.

Kaapzicht: This estate has excellent red wines. As you drive in you can clearly see this is a working farm. The tasting room is no frills and just focuses on introducing their excellent wines. Kaapzicht focuses on reds—specifically, the Steytler Pinotage is excellent. www.kaapzicht.co.za

Hartenberg: One of our top estates and renowned for its Shiraz, Harenberg received a Decanter and Platters 5-star rating this year for the Stork Shirax, as well as scores of over 90 in US Wine Spectator for the Stork and Gravel Hill Shiraz. I have been advised that they have just opened up a new spectacular tasting area in the original underground cellar.Hartenberg was one of the 1st estates to offer picnics and they are well geared towards the picnics with tables in the gardens—so you can choose to sit at tables or on the lawns. They have also just introduced their wetlands trail that you can take a picnic in your backpack and enjoy en-route. This is also a kid-friendly environment with lots of room for them to run around. There is also a jungle gym. www.hartenbergestate.com

Image above of a Sunday lunch picnic at the Hartenberg Estate. Image taken from the Hartenberg Estate website.

Villiera: This estate offers value for money wines that deliver higher quality than the price point. They have friendly staff and a lovely outdoor seating area for wine tasting. In addition, you can also do a self-walk tour through their cellar—just ask them to point you in the right direction. This is especially fun during harvest time as you can actually watch the grapes coming in and the presses working. In addition, Villiera has launched: VILLIERA GAME DRIVE AND BIRDING—an activity in the Villiera Wildlife Sanctuary. The Villiera Sanctuary is situated in Koelenhof and access is gained through their vineyards. The game drive through the 175 hectares lasts about 2 hours. Visitors are guaranteed sightings of a diverse population of antelope (gemsbok, eland, bontebok, springbuck, zebra, as well as other small mammals and birds). On a clear day, one has a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains overlooking the Cape Peninsula. The cost is R150 per person (kids under 15 are half price). Booking is essential. Tel +27-21-8652002. www.villiera.com

African horse safaris epitomize adventure, romance, and horsemanship. Horses are at home in many parts of the world, and here in Africa they played an integral part through the course of history. They enable us to travel vast distances across mountains and valleys, introducing us to wildlife in a very special way.

After professional equine experience in Italy, Hawaii and Costa Rica, Africa is my home and I love being with horses. The wildlife, bushveld, and night skies are unbeatable, particularly when shared with four-legged friends. I have had the honor and responsibility to work at Wait a Little Horse and Game Ranch, Saddlebag Safaris, and Limpopo Valley Horse Safaris as a horse safari guide. Guiding in alternate environments, involving a variety of cultural and adventure landscapes, I work in English, Spanish, Italian, Afrikaans, and Zulu.

Residing in tourism hub and surfers paradise city of Cape Town, I always look for opportunities to escape to the bushveld and embark on a horse safari.

2. Where, in your opinion, is the best place to embark on an African horseback safari? Why?

Wherever you find horses, wildlife, an open sky, and savannah. In the Kruger National Park area Wait a Little is highly recommended. I do have a bias for where I come from, so working and riding at Wait a Little was a dream and a fantasy come true. Phillip and Gerti came to Africa to ride horses on a safari setup, and today they boast one of the leading horse safari destinations on the continent.

Another preferred riding /work place is Limpopo Valley Horse Safaris or LVHS. The “land of giants” consists of a unique fusion of baobab trees, elephants, and amazing horses and people. Wilderness camping and learning about the Tswana culture from the wonderful local guides compliments the safari experience.

The Waterberg in South Africa hosts Saddlebag Safaris and Dinaka Game Reserve. Sandy trails and gentle slopes characterize these ancient mountains where riding is fast, sporty, and satisfying. Destinations that offer some of the best riding in Africa are the Okavango Delta of Botswana and the Masai Mara / Serengeti plains of East Africa. Riding through picturesque vineyards, beaches, and Fynbos is a hop outside Cape Town, the tourism hub of Southern Africa. The Cape boasts the unique fynbos biome and Cape Floral Kingdom. Fynbos hosts the highest endemism of flowers on earth.

3. Describe what one might experience while on a horseback safari in Africa.

Horses often relax in the vicinity of wildlife, interacting through their body language, scent, and sounds. We are the tourists here, the visitors, and we learn from the wildlife and horses’ instincts and behaviors.

When there is danger, the interaction, ability and skill of the horse and rider combined keep them out of harms way. Safari horses are fit, and prospective riders have to train at their home riding facility to optimize their riding holiday experience once they get to Africa. Typical safari days could mean seven hours in the saddle.

4. How do horseback safaris differ from other safari types including game drives and walking safaris?

A complete safari enhances the visitors experience by mixing walking, driving, and riding. Horse safaris may utilize game drive vehicles and may also include some walking time. Walking is a great leg stretcher after a long day in the saddle, and we often get closer to predators in vehicles than we do on horseback. Every type of safari poses a unique vantage from where to observe and explore wildlife.

Horse safaris entail long hours in the saddle, typically two rides per day. Meeting and approaching some wildlife on horseback keeps everyone involved and participating.

5. Is there anything else you’d like to mention about horseback safaris in Africa?

Horses are trained for months and years, and the work behind the scenes is vast and intense. Some horse safaris present opportunities to share in the daily care taking of the horses in a voluntary way. If you feel like brushing your horse after a long ride, it will improve your friendship even more.

Riding is a skill and requires learning and exercising body positions and balance, often demanding fitness and endurance. On safari we meet numerous riders who are aiming to improve their skill and fitness. Riding before embarking on safari is a great idea in order to fit well with your forward going and able horse on safari. Every safari has its own character, degree of service, and level of riding. This is one tourism market that may have more return guests than any other. People connect with horses in special ways, and return to meet them once again in majestic Africa.
Horse safaris inspire me to host more riders in our beloved Africa. We dream at night and ride at daybreak. The experience changes lives, and fulfills the dreams of connecting with the wonderful creatures we share the Dark Continent with.

Horses bring light to Africa. Join us for the ride of your life.

Below are 3 of the best spa and relaxation experiences to be had in southern Africa:

Image to the left taken from the Tswalu Kalahari website.

The Spa at Tswalu Kalahari: Winner of The Best Safari Spa Award in the Les Nouvelles Esthétiques 2011 Spa Awards, the Tswalu Kalahari spa is one of South Africa’s most celebrated spas. According to a recent press release from Tswalu Kalahari, the managing editor of Les Nouvelles Esthétiques, Dr. Nadine de Freitas, says “In judging the spas, we look for the personalised aspects in the spa visit, in addition to absolute attention to detail, impeccable spa standards and faultless service excellence, which all adds up to a spa experience which is beyond the client’s expectations.” And the Tswalu Kalahari spa undoubtedly fits each of these descriptions.

Recently renovated in both design and spa treatment selections, the Tswalu Kalahari spa is constantly working to enhance client experience. Currently, the spa offers a variety of specialty treatments, including the signature Tswalu touch experience, an aromatic candle massage, and a hot stone massage—just to name a few. The signature Tswalu touch experience, for example, immerses guests into a state of deep relaxation while rejuvenating and cleansing the skin. Specifically, guests can choose between a natural red dune sand or desert crystal exfoliation before they receive a Kalahari stone massage fusion—unique to Tswalu Kalahari.

Arabella Hotel & Spa: Recognized for its contemporary, yet tranquil, environment, the spa at Arabella Hotel & Spa reflects a unique fusion of relaxation, comfort, and pure luxury.
Londolozi’s Granite Suites River Baths: Many of the luxury accommodations in southern Africa offer romantic outdoor bush bath experiences, but Londolozi’s Granite Suites arguably offers the best. This rejuvenating experience takes place in natural surroundings that overlook a quaint river bank, submerging guests into a state of complete relaxation. With the distant sounds of moving water, chirping birds, and the rustle of the ebony tree leaves, there is nothing more serene and rejuvenating than a Londolozi River Bath.

We’ve seen many clients who often describe themselves as beach and relaxation lovers. And even though all of our clients possess different passions, interests, and preferences, beach and relaxation lovers, generally speaking, shy away from group excursions and cruise holidays. Instead, they seek refuge at exotic beaches and flock to the waters of secluded destinations. Fortunately for beach and relaxation lovers, Africa has some real gems in store for them.

Below we’ve highlighted some of the best destinations for travelers with an irresistible attraction to stunning beaches and water:

1. Cape Town and the Garden Route: With the power of a magnet, South Africa’s Cape Town and Garden Route beaches have been beckoning international travelers to their beaches for decades. And it’s no wonder why. With exceptional weather between the months of September and April, and spectacular natural surroundings—including backdrops filled with mountains, wild flower fields, and jagged cliffs—Cape Town and the Garden Route provide the ultimate setting for a revitalizing vacation.

Hout Bay is one of Cape Town’s most famous beach areas, visited primarily for sunbathing, whale and Cape fur seal watching, walks along the shore, and leisurely horseback riding. The Bay is also home to a pier, which is celebrated for its amazing fish and chips eateries, which line the walkway. Some of Cape Town’s other delightful beaches include Cliffton and Camps Bay.

The Garden Route also offers charming beach getaways, including Mossel Bay, Knysna, and Plettenberg Bay. Each and every one of these beach areas has something incredible to offer its visitors.

Aside from its breathtaking beaches, Mossel Bay also boasts a Maritime Museum, Shell Museum, and an Aquarium, which can all be explored on your own—should you ever want to break from the beach.

Plettenberg Bay has one of the most spectacular backdrops of all the Garden Route beaches, with towering mountains lining the backdrop. A short distance from Plettenberg Bay beaches are some of South Africa’s most renowned golf courses, which are a must visit for avid golfers.

2. Mnemba Island: Whether you just want to sit on a beach and relax for 10 days straight or embark on a scuba diving safari, Mnemba Island is celebrated for its laid back days, spectacular climate, and unspoiled beaches. This gorgeous private island, which lies 2.8 miles off the coast of Tanzania, is the beach lover’s dream getaway. From private candlelit dinners beneath the stars to naps on secluded beach bandas, and sunbathing to kayaking, everything about the experience on Mnemba Island is surreal.

The perfect time to visit Mnemba Island is between the months of September and April when temperatures are between 70 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit—although, the island is beautiful during the months between May and August when temperatures are a bit cooler.

3. Benguerra Island: If you love the beach, ocean, seafood, luxury, and complete privacy, there is no better place to escape to than Mozambique’s Benguerra Island. Aside from peaceful sun-drenched days on the beach, Benguerra Island also beckons visitors to explore its coastline via horseback, island walks, kayaks, and dhow cruises. Or take a trip beneath the surface into the aquatic wonderland that surrounds this charming island. While scuba diving or snorkeling, you’ll come across hundreds of dazzling reef fish, sea turtles, reef sharks, moray eels, stingrays, and stunning hard and soft corals. And for an evening filled with sensational cuisine and a quaint ambiance, enjoy a seafood dinner on the beach beneath the stars.

Similar to Mnemba Island, the perfect time to visit Benguerra Island is during the months between September and April when temperatures reach in the high 80s (Fahrenheit). So why not island hop between those months to both islands?

Before I go into detail about shark diving excursions, I’d first like to point out a few interesting and spine-tingling facts about the sharks of South Africa:

Out of the 400 species of sharks in the world, South Africa’s waters contain nearly 100 different shark species. Some of the most popular species in Africa’s coastal waters include the whale shark, tiger shark, black tip shark, hammerhead shark, bull shark, and, of course, the infamous great white shark.

When the HMS Birkenhead sunk in 1852 off the coast of Gansbaai, many men met their fate in the presence of the water’s great white sharks. These sharks were referred to by the British soldiers as Blue Pointers and Tommy Sharks.

It is believed that during great white breeding, the male bites down on the female to achieve a grip. Many females are missing chunks of flesh because of this violent act.

Bull sharks are often found in many of the waters that surround Africa and have even been known to travel into freshwater. They can survive in both saltwater and freshwater.

Below I’ve spotlighted one of our favorite, trusted shark diving providers, Apex Shark Expeditions:

Image to the left taken from the Apex Shark Expeditions’ website.

Apex Shark Expeditions: You’ve probably seen the Apex dive team and researchers featured on the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week, both this year and last year (See image to the left. Recognize them?). They are a team of highly knowledgeable divers and researchers with a deep passion for sharks. Through these specialized shark diving tours, the Apex team strives to educate travelers on shark behavior and their importance within the circle of life.

To ensure that each traveler experiences the best dive possible, Apex only takes small groups out at a time. This helps travelers feel more comfortable, and it allows them to fully absorb the personalized experience and educational elements of the trip.

One of the reasons why we love to use Apex is because they are willing to cater to each small group’s particular interests and needs. Whether you would like a completely private tour or wish to perform research or film or photograph these creatures, the Apex team is extremely flexible with accommodating traveler needs.

Some of Apex’s tours include great white shark dive trips, dive trips catered to spotting other types of sharks such as the blue shark and mako shark, seven gill cow shark dive, whale trips, and Cape fur seal dives. They also offer specialized 5 – 10 day tours throughout the year.

Here’s just a little taste of what you might experience on a Great White Shark Morning Dive:

Leave for Seal Island (a major gathering spot for great whites) and arrive right before sunrise to watch the great whites during their morning predation routine. You’ll also be able to get an up-close look at the adorable Cape fur seals that call Seal Island their home. And keep an eye out for great whites—you might see these magnificent creatures breach during their hunt for Cape fur seals.

The team will then release a fake seal decoy that is towed behind the boat. This is used to trigger sharks’ predatory behavior so that guests can observe natural great white behavior.

The crew will then anchor the boat and drop the cage in (the cage is attached to the side of the boat). Before each diver enters the water, he or she is informed of safety precautions and operational protocols. If you do not wish to dive, you can still see the great whites from the comfort of the boat.

Some of our other preferred shark dive providers include Marine Dynamics and White Shark Projects, both vendors are Fair Trade in Tourism certified.

Have you been pining over where you want to take your honeymoon in 2011 or 2012? If you’re looking for a trip that steps outside the boundaries of a traditional Caribbean honeymoon, then southern and eastern Africa is where you want to be.

As we all know, Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton in Kenya, so it must be romantic, right? Absolutely! Not to mention, they took their honeymoon in Seychelles, a romantic retreat off the coast of Africa. So what is it about Africa that woos romantics and newlyweds to its exotic lands?

Here are our top 20 reasons why southern and eastern Africa should be your #1 honeymoon destination:

As you open a bottle of champagne with your new spouse and toast to a lifetime of spectacular memories, the magnificent dunes of Namibia provide the ultimate romantic backdrop.

8. Picturesque landscapes: Most of Africa’s landscapes are untouched, making much of this continent some of the last natural frontiers in the world. Explore these inspirational landscapes with your loved one and take in the sheer beauty of Africa’s natural surroundings. From tropical destinations to lush forests, and swamp-covered lands to sprawling savannah plains, Africa is celebrated for its vast biodiversity and unique mixture of eco-systems.

9. Fascinating underwater worlds: Whether you and your (new) spouse are first-time snorkelers or avid scuba divers, southern and eastern Africa offer some of the most enchanting underwater experiences for all travelers. From colorful reefs to sharks, sea turtles to reef fish, and whales to sting rays, your time shared together beneath the water will be one of your most memorable.

Each and every luxury spa offers signature treatments that often utilize local plants, resources, and therapy methods. This helps build a connection between your body and the nature of Africa.

Countless studies have shown that being amongst nature directly correlates with your mental and physical health. Specifically, spending just a few minutes in nature—away from concrete, buildings, busy streets, traffic lights, and sirens—can actually make you a happier and healthier person!

So, if you live in a big city or even a large town, and are eager to get away to nature, stillness, and tranquility, then a trip to Africa should be number one on your list for relaxing getaways.

What I love so much about Africa is its limitless diversity. It caters to all walks of life, including adventurists, nature lovers, explorers, and relaxation-seekers.

Below are 5 activities for the relaxation-seeker to take part in while visiting Africa:

1. Sleep beneath the stars: If you’re looking to sink yourself into the soothing sights and sounds of nature, then staying in a luxury tented camp is where you want to be. As you reminisce about the day’s events from the comfort of a plush lounge on your private deck, all you’ll hear are the sounds of distant wildlife in the bush, and the crackling fire beside you. As you open your eyes and peer up into the infinite sky, you’ll witness the most brilliant star display on earth. You can literally sit there for hours, finding peace and stillness in your mind and body.

We suggest staying in one of Singita Game Reserve’s tented accommodations for some of the best star gazing opportunities.

2. Discover your center with bush yoga: Using yoga as the channel to facilitate a connection between yourself and nature is one of the most powerful ways to find balance within. And Londolozi Game Reserve is the perfect place to partake in therapeutic yoga courses. Set outside, amongst nature, Londolozi’s yoga classes bring a sense of self- and environmental-awareness to all who partake in their healing yoga practices.

See below to get a glimpse into practicing yoga at Londolozi:

3. Find peace in outdoor spa treatments: Discover inner balance as you melt beneath the hands of a masseuse on an outdoor veranda. Many of the spas found throughout Africa offer services that combine the traditional healing powers of nature with revolutionary spa treatments, allowing you to connect with nature while enjoying revitalizing spa treatments. Some spa treatments even include the use of indigenous plants, such as the healing services at Tau Game Lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve.

4. Find pure bliss on the Beach: Strewn all along the southern coast of Africa are arguably the planet’s most spectacular beaches. From Cape Town to Zanzibar and Mozambique to Seychelles, the coastlines of Africa provide the ultimate retreat to busy travelers in need of some serious rest and relaxation. Pick a spot beneath Africa’s golden sun on one of the uninhabited beaches and unwind with a book or simply find peace in watching the rhythm of the ocean ebb and flow.

5. Enjoy a refreshing game of golf: Golf lovers who visit South Africa’s many courses fall head-over-heels in a matter of seconds, and it’s no wonder why. Celebrated as a world-renowned golfing destination, South Africa is speckled with beautiful golf courses that provide relaxing escapes for busy city-dwellers and travelers. During your golfing experiences, you’ll find tranquility in the layout of the courses and residential wildlife.

Some of our favorite golf courses include Leopard Creek County Club, Links at Fancourt, Pearl Valley Golf Estates, and Durban Country Club.

Where is your favorite place to escape to for a relaxing vacation?

As many of you might already know, the world’s new favorite couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton, just returned from a luxurious and extremely romantic honeymoon in Seychelles. So English royalty had their pick to vacation anywhere in the world, and they chose one of the islands of the Seychelles archipelago? Absolutely! Not only is Seychelles one of the most romantic places in the entire world, but it is also one of the most secluded and exotic.

Image above taken from seychelles.travel.

North Island is one of our absolute favorite Seychelles islands. So if you’re thinking about where to go on your dream honeymoon, North Island, Seychelles should be number one of your list, and here’s why:

Encounter fascinating and rare wildlife: With much of the land dedicated to nature conservation, North Island is teeming with an abundance of wildlife including huge tortoises, green turtles, endemic gecko species, fruit bats, as well as blue pigeons, sunbirds, and a variety of other waterbirds. There are also more than 200 plant species spread across the island, which act as habitats and nutrients for residential wildlife.

Relax on island time: Home to some of the world’s most astonishing beaches, Seychelles is a sun-lover’s paradise. Whether you love swimming in the ocean or walking barefoot along an unspoiled beach, the coast of North Island is the perfect place to unwind. And for a complete mind, body, and soul rejuvenation, book a couple’s spa treatment on the beach as you enjoy complete privacy. The only sounds you’ll hear are the ebbing and flowing water and bustling wildlife.

Image above of St. Pierre Island taken from seychelles.travel.

Dine on private beaches: Home to a handful of great natural resources, North Island is always fully stocked with fresh, delectable food. From freshly caught seafood to crisp vegetables and exotic fruits to local spices, North Island offers food lovers culinary creations that go above and beyond expectations. And to add to the sensational flavors, visitors can enjoy a romantic candle-lit dinner for two on the powdery beach as the sun sets behind the sprawling horizon. With no one else to speak above you or the delicate sounds of nature, a dinner on the beach is by far the most blissful and romantic way to enjoy comforting cuisine.

Explore underwater gardens: Coated with vibrantly colored hard and soft coral, the underwater world surrounding North Island hosts an endless adventure for curious divers. With a PADI certified dive center that offers dive certification courses and a selection of highly experienced dive masters, all visitors can explore the depths of Seychelles, no matter their experience level. Some of the underwater creatures frequently spotted while diving include spotted eagle rays, parrotfish, white-tip reef sharks, barracuda, and whale sharks, among a variety of other reef fish.

Go island hopping: Comprised of a cluster of unique islands, Seychelles offers visitors the opportunity to explore a new, exotic destination each and every day. From Cousine Island to North Island and Bird Island to Frégate Island Private, there are new characteristics and a new history to explore. After you’ve taken a short ferry ride or airplane ride to your next island of choice, you’ll have the opportunity to seek complete relaxation on uninhabited beaches. Characterized by huge granite formations and cliffs, lush vegetation, and powdery sand, Seychelles Islands have developed quite the reputation for having some of the most stunning beaches on earth.
